The ME-Card is a revolving credit card with a limit of up to ₹5 lakh for Udyam-registered micro enterprises, launched on 25 May 2026 with a 75% government guarantee to the issuing bank. It gives a small shop or service unit the working-capital line that a cash-credit account usually denies it.
Announced in Budget 2025-26 and rolled out through public sector and regional rural banks, the card works like a credit line: draw what you need, repay, draw again, and pay interest only on what is used. Banks were set a target of 20 lakh cards for the year.
The gate is Udyam registration for a micro enterprise; the bank then applies its own appraisal on bank statements, GST returns and the promoter's credit report. It is not start-up finance — the unit has to be running.
