How long is a trademark valid?+
A registered trademark is valid for 10 years from the date of application and can be renewed indefinitely in 10-year blocks.
Can I use the TM and R symbols?+
You can use the (TM) symbol once you file the application. The (R) symbol can only be used after the trademark is officially registered.
What if my trademark gets an objection?+
Objections are common and not the end of the road. We draft and file a reply, and represent you at the hearing if required, to move the application towards registration.
Which class should I register in?+
Trademarks are filed under 45 classes based on goods and services. We identify the correct class (or classes) so your protection actually covers what you sell.
